Question Everything #AtoZChallenge

I recently helped some of my co-workers realize that a process they'd been performing for over 10 years was no longer necessary. That sort of stuff makes me insanely happy.

How did this happen? Well, at least 10 years ago a manager dictated that this process be done and no one asked why, or it was still necessary, until about two weeks ago.

So, the moral of the story folks is to ask why. Question everything. This is the beginning of Lean thinking and it's something I hope to teach my daughter.

  1. I've had some instances like that at the day job. Sometimes the things we discover a different way to do are so much better that we wonder why it took us so long to figure it out. Other times, we're just forced to try something new. It usually works.

  2. Yes! I love this, and agree with it completely!!! There are SO many things at my work right now that I am just like..."WHY?" The answer "we have always done it like this." But it doesn't make sense! Question everything!!! Loved it!
